Wow. OK. I doubt this is the case, but this part of the article makes the author sound like a PS3 'fanboy'.
-
"You can't just go from one extreme to the other in an attempt to appeal to both audiences. If you want to widen your appeal, you need to stay in the middle like the PS3 did."
-
Stay in the middle like PS3 did? WTF? Has someone forgotten totally about PS3's new 'joy wand'? If that's not Sony going after the...
Why does everyone assume that expanding your market appeal does NOT automatically mean you're 'abandoning' your core audience! The 360's primary focus (in terms of avaialble games) is still firmly in the 'hardcore' market.
-
Just look at next year's lineup (announced so far). It is by FAR a hardcore gamer's lineup.
Well NOT Keith Olbermann - I have had ZERO problems with voice commands. Every voice command I have given has worked. EVERY SINGLE ONE. So, for me, it works perfectly.
-
That's not a 'fanboy' comment. It's a FACT. Deal with it.
1. Not everyone needs a mount. Kinect fits perfectly into my setup with NO need for any mount.
-
2. The author claims, "voice controls are iffy and limited". Somewhat limited yes (I never expected a 'fully open' voice control vocabulary), but it works PERFECTLY. I have had zero issues. Just remember to speak up a bit if you're using voice while a movie or some music is playing. Also, the author is a MORON for just trying words at random. Simply ...
I never claimed it would 'revolutionize' gaming, but if all Kinect is is an eyetoy and a mic - then why did Sony have to add 'Move'?
-
After all - Kinect is JUST an Eye Toy, right? So why did Sony need to add more hardware?
-
Not just motion sensing, but full body/individual limb tracking in a 3-dimensional space. Facial and voice recognition for automatic sign in and loading of preferences. Can track was just ONE hand or ONE foot doe...
Poor/extremely short 'article'.
-
Also: "Motion-sensing cameras like Kinect aren't exactly new."
-
When will people realize that Kinect is FAR more than just a motion-sensing camera?
STUPID article! Who the F moves their console while a game is in the tray?
-
If the author of this article did - he's a moron.
Remember folks - EACH PS3 player will need a Move & sub-controller.
-
Kinect = ONE device for ALL players (up to 4). Kinect is currently priced $149 for preorder at Gamestop.
Wrong. You MUST have all three pieces for the Move to work (The controller, the 'sub' controller & an eye toy).
Also, EACH player will need a Move & sub controller. Kinect = ONE device for ALL players.
Gamestop has Kinect listed for $149. If MS is smart, they'll drop that to $120 fast.
$50 for main contoller, $30 for sub controller... that is if you have the eye already. $129 for everything.
-
Suddenly, the Kinect doesn't seem overpriced anymore!
It's listed for $149 at Gamestop...
"OnLive" - On Live is not Xbox Live. This is OnLive - http://www.onlive.com/
If he really is talking about Xbox Live - I think he's off base. $10/month? No.
I'm willing to bet they based their review on a demo ratehr than the full game... again.
IGN is going downhill fast.
I was only credited for posting the article to N4G. You and Jolly did an excellent job on this review. :)
What a lame story. What did this take, reading a press release & spitting it back out w/ slightly differnt wording? Try writing your own stuff - from scratch.
If you are a student and have a .edu email address, you can get Windows 7 (32 bit Home Premium) for $29.99.

But I Love to rant! (Please note the name of my website.) ;)
No he didn't. "Sees" vs. "See". SEE the difference?
